JK Rowling… A Year in the Life provides exclusive access into the world of this famous author as she works on the final, eagerly anticipated, Harry Potter novel.

This film has private and exclusive access to a full year in her life: the year in which she completes the literary phenomenon that is Harry Potter, providing an intimate portrait of this very private person.

It includes interviews with Rowling as it follows her every step of the way as her new book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is finished, published and launched around the world.

The programme has gained unprecedented access to film Rowling writing the final lines of the epic Harry Potter story. We see the book’s delivery in a locked suitcase to her agent at Heathrow Airport gaining a sense of the incredible secrecy leading up to the day of the worldwide release on July 21, 2007.

The film takes J.K. Rowling back to her childhood home, and to her old flat where she completed the first book of the Harry Potter series. The film also features her husband and sister talking about their life with Jo, and ends with her starting work on a new book and contemplating ‘life after Harry’. [...]
